Returning Students

Returning Student Deadline Policy: Student grant aid will be reduced by $1000 for all applications made complete AFTER June 16, 2008. Students who complete applications after August 1, 2008 will be ineligible to receive Tufts grant aid for the Fall semester.

Returning Students

Please follow the steps below.  A comprehensive checklist is available here:  Returning Students

  1. 2008-2009 CSS Profile
    Tufts PROFILE code: 3901
    Deadline: April 15, 2008
  2. 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    Tufts Federal Code: 002219
Deadline: After January 1, 2008 but prior to April 15, 2008
  3. 2008-2009 Tufts Aid Application
    Deadline: April 15, 2008
  4. Other forms: AFTER you submit your CSS PROFILE form, you will receive from CSS a Cover Sheet letter with details about other forms required by Tufts. These forms must be submitted with the Cover Sheet, directly back to the College Board's IDOC (Institutional Documentation Imaging service.)  Do not send documents directly to Tufts; they should all be sent to the IDOC service. You will be able to check the IDOC Web site (beginning in February) to verify that your documentation packet has been processed and forwarded to Tufts University.  IDOC customer service can be contacted at (954) 622-1484.

All material relating to Noncustodial Parent should still be mailed directly to Tufts University. Please ensure that the student's name and ID are clearly noted on any form sent to Tufts.  For Non custodial specifics see Details under How to Apply.

*If 2007 taxes are not yet completed, please do so as soon as possible, submitting them in one single packet to IDOC, ensuring that they are signed and contain all schedules, attachments and W-2 forms.  Please do not submit state taxes.  Aid awards will be tentative until 2007 taxes are received and reviewed.

Upper class Financial Aid Award Notices will be sent out at the end of June.

International Student Applicants

International financial aid is based on need.  Awards will consist of grant and possible eligibility for an on-campus job.  To apply, download and submit, directly to Tufts, the International Student Aid Application, along with the most recent parent and student taxes, translated into English and U.S. dollars, as needed.
Deadline: February 15, 2008.

If an International student enrolls at Tufts without financial aid as a first year student, that student is not normally eligible for aid in subsequent years at Tufts. An exception may be made for an International student who has completed at least two years at Tufts, and whose family has experienced an unanticipated change in family financial circumstances. In these cases, limited funds may be available, and the student may apply for an emergency grant and/or loans. Other information may be found here on the International Center web site.
