Chapter Profiles

Introduction

Our core values are central to ensuring that each chapter graduates exceptional, well-rounded members who are ready to face the challenges life has to offer as active citizens in the world.

Scholarship- Academics are the reason we came to Tufts. A common concern for many students is that joining a fraternity or sorority will take away from class and study time. In fact, fraternity and sorority life helps keep students academically focused. Each chapter has minimum standards for academic performance and to help make these standards attainable students are offered support, personal guidance, and other programming to support academic success.

Leadership- As self-governing organizations, fraternities and sororities offer many opportunities to take on decision making and management responsibilities. From elected positions within the chapter to organizing committees and projects, each member can contribute to their organization and/or the community at large in leadership roles while building valuable skill sets.

Service- Community service and philanthropy are at the center of many chapter activities. Through hands-on volunteer work and fundraising efforts for community and national agencies, every Greek student leaves a legacy. Service is one of the many meaningful aspects of Greek Life, but is also personally rewarding.

Friendship- The social aspect of fraternity and sorority life is not to go unnoticed. Membership provides myriad opportunities to meet new people from different backgrounds and make new friends. The tight-knit culture among sisterhood and brotherhood fosters even closer lifelong friendships. Your brothers and sisters are most likely the friends you will call upon to be by your side in life’s most significant moments, whether it be to have a supportive voice or to celebrate happiness and success.
