Programs
Our Programs
First and Foremost
Immediately after accepting a bid
of new membership, new members are required to attend
First and Foremost. This program is designed to help
them understand the values and purpose of fraternity and
sorority life. The program helps students to understand
university support and policies in regard to fraternity
and sorority membership in addition
to being educated on topics
including hazing, fire and life safety, leadership
development opportunities, and time management.
Member Education
In addition to new member programs,
we are also committed to the continued education of the
active member throughout their fraternity or sorority
experience.
Programs in the membership
education series include: alcohol use and abuse, career
planning, community involvement, leadership development,
networking, risk management, etc.
Greek Week
In addition to many fun social
events through the year, Greek Week is a week where
Greeks plan and attend different events, which are open
to the larger community. Greek Week is an effort for the
Greek community to outreach in a fun and social way.
Historically, events have included: Greek Jams (a lip
sync competition), field day, bar-b-que, croquet with
TUPD, a formal, and many other fun activities.
Housing Information
Sophomore fraternity and sorority
members may fulfill the university’s residency
requirements by living in their chapter house.
Additionally, sophomores may fulfill their meal plan
requirement if their chapter has a valid common
victualler’s license, whether or not they live in the
house. Breaking a university housing contract to live in
a fraternity or sorority house is not a reason for
refunding the room guarantee fee, so it is critical to
make residency plans before signing a housing contract
in the annual spring housing lottery.
