Applicant Email 7-20-09

Dear Applicants,

This email contains clarification on sending letters to schools, and articles of interest.

SENDING LETTERS
Please reread the last email online to review the process. Several of you have asked questions and here is clarification

1 – When you give us the list of medical schools to which you are applying, we will see that letters get to them. Even if they do not participate in AMCAS letter service, we can get them to the schools.

2 – You can provide us the AMCAS school list now and then later give us your AACOMAS list.

3 – We hope to begin sending letters in the next day or two for those students whose letter packet is ready, and who have sent in all the materials outlined in the previous email.

4 – All dental school applicants have their packet sent via AADSAS.

5 – All vet school applicants have individual recommenders complete the eLOR in VMCAS. Tufts Vet works differently and I will email about that later.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING IN HEALTH CARE?
All Americans should be interested in knowing about the movement to reform health care delivery in our country. But you in particular need to be aware of what is being discussed since it is surely going to have an impact on the work you do. Not just premeds but predents and prevets should be informed about these happenings.

There is a lot out there you can read but here is a spreadsheet with a number of recent, well-written articles about our current health care reform process. Rest assured that you will be having conversations about these topics in your interviews this fall and winter.

Carol
