Approximately thirteen percent of Tufts’ undergraduates choose to join a fraternity or
sorority. To join, Tufts students who have completed at least one college semester must
participate in Recruitment or Membership Intake. Inter-Greek Council policies require
that students have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 (Arts and Sciences) or 2.30
(College of Engineering) in order to receive a bid (invitation to join) from a fraternity
of sorority. Students must not be on any university academic or disciplinary warning or
probation. All eligible Tufts students seeking to join a fraternity or sorority and who
participate in the entire recruitment process are assured a bid from at least one of the
general fraternities or sororities on campus. Note that this system does not guarantee
an invitation to a join a particular chapter.
