The Graduate Student Council, the official body of graduate student government, represents all
graduate students in Arts & Sciences and Engineering, and works with students, faculty, and
administration to improve academic policies and other areas of graduate student life at Tufts.
The general council comprises representatives from each of the graduate programs on the Medford
campus, and representatives of currently active graduate student organizations. The executive board,
which oversees the daily business of the council and makes recommendations to the general council
regarding policy initiatives, committee appointments, and budgetary issues, is made up of four
elected officers and the chairs of the council’s academic resources, nonacademic resources, social,
and community outreach committees.
