Welcome to the Online Student
Handbook
This website contains comprehensive information about
campus life, including resources, policies, emergency
information, and links to useful publications and
websites relating to living in the Tufts community. The
material on this site applies to all undergraduate and
graduate students in the School of Engineering and the
School of Arts & Sciences.
This website has replaced the Pachyderm, which formerly
was the print version of Tufts student handbook. We have
tried to organize the site in a way that is user
friendly. You can find what you are looking for through
the top tabs and from the side menus. The site is also
fully indexed in alphabetical order, accessible through
the tab marked "Index" at the upper right. The site will
be a work in progress with continuing updates – we
welcome your suggestions for improvements and changes.
Most users will approach the material in this site for
reference purposes, which is probably no different than
the way the printed handbook was used. But the bottom
line is still the same – students will be held
responsible for compliance with the policies and
regulations that are contained here. Thus, you are
strongly urged to look through the topics and make sure
you understand our community standards.
The links to other websites and publications contained
in this site were checked for being active at the time
this site went live in August 2011. Many of the “links”
are not maintained by the Dean of Student Affairs Office or by
Tufts and so we cannot verify that the material you
click to from our website will be up-to-date. When something you are
researching is important, please look for a revision
date or check with the author to verify that you have
current information.
