Recommended Study Abroad Programs

The following is a list of study abroad programs currently recommended for transfer credit toward a Tufts degree as of September 1, 2011. The Office of Programs Abroad is not responsible for individual program changes. It is the student’s responsibility to ascertain that the academic portion of the program is a minimum of 13 weeks per semester. The Resource Library in Dowling Hall has on file the brochure and application of many of the programs listed below as well as program evaluations. Please consult the individual program websites for the most current information. It is also possible for students to enroll directly in accredited foreign universities.

Approval of a leave of absence to study abroad applies to transfer of academic credit only; it does not imply an evaluation of current security conditions in the country in question. For updated safety information, contact the program provider and consult the U.S. State Department travel advisories, available at http://travel.state.gov.

Great Britain        

NOTE: Tufts students planning to study in Great Britain must enroll for:

1) the full academic year; 2) fall or spring semester at a school having semesters lasting a minimum of 13 weeks; or 3) both the second and third terms (spring) of a trimester academic schedule. Tufts does not grant credit for a short, fall term only; this policy holds true whether you are participating in a program or applying directly to a university. Some British schools only permit study abroad students to enter for the full year.

Students may attend University College and SOAS at the University of London, or Pembroke College at Oxford University through Tufts in London or Tufts in Oxford only.
